18th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia
– Collateral Event from Macao, China: Open Call for Exhibition Proposals

In 2023 the Macao Museum of Art (MAM) under the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government will once again organise a team to participate in the 18th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, with the objective to let Macao’s architects and creative talents gain more experience in participating in international exhibition and offer them more opportunities for exchanging with their international counterparts.

The Macao Museum of Art (MAM) is now launching an open call for submission of Exhibition Proposals for the 18th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia – Collateral Event from Macao, China.

This activity is organised by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM) under the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government with the support of Architects Association of Macau (AAM), and the Jury Committee of the Exhibition Proposal Competition of the 18th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia – Collateral Event from Macao, China will review the Exhibition Proposals submitted, from which a winning team will be selected to represent Macao Special Administrative Region to participate in the 18th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia – Collateral Event from Macao, China. The Jury Committee consists of several local and foreign experts in the fields and the representatives of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government. Names of the Jury Committee members will be duly announced on MAM website: http://www.mam.gov.mo/e/index.

The Selection is scheduled for 25th September, 2022. The Selection Process consists of the First Stage (forenoon of 25th September) and the Final Stage (afternoon of 25th September). At the First Stage a maximum of seven Exhibition Proposals may be selected as Finalists. At the Final Stage, representatives of the Teams entering the Final Stage, via text message and phone call by the MAM at noon on 25th September, will be invited to MAM at the designated time in the afternoon of the same day to present their Proposals. Please pay attention to receiving text message and phone call (the contact phone number of the Proposer) at noon on 25th September, 2022. If absent from the Final Stage, the team will be regarded as a waiver. In case any Team cannot present Exhibition Proposal on site due to the pandemic prevention or other special reasons, the presentation can be conducted through video conferencing. Failure to present Proposals via both means will be regarded as a waiver. The Cultural Affairs Bureau reserves the final decision on ‘other special reasons’.

The 18th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale of di Venezia will take place on 20 May, 2023. The President of La Biennale di Venezia, Roberto Cicutto, and the Curator of the Exhibition, Lesley Lokko, announced on 31st May, 2022, the theme as ‘The Laboratory of the Future’ for the Venice Architecture Biennale 2023.

──中國澳門展區 參展方案公開比賽

2023年，澳門特別行政區政府文化局澳門藝術博物館將再次組織團隊參加“第18屆威尼斯國際建築雙年展”。令澳門建築師在國際舞台亮相並藉此加強澳門與國際建築界的交流。

為此澳門藝術博物館現正舉辦上述參展方案公開比賽，歡迎有意者提交參展方案。

是次活動由澳門特別行政區政府文化局澳門藝術博物館主辦，澳門建築師協會協辦（暫定），並由“第18屆威尼斯國際建築雙年展──中國澳門展區” 《評審方案》委員會對提交的參展方案進行評審，甄選出獲選團隊代表澳門特別行政區參展“第18屆威尼斯國際建築雙年展──中國澳門展區”。《評審方案》委員會將由相關領域的本澳及外地專家，以及澳門特別行政區政府文化局代表組成，成員名單稍後將於澳門藝術博物館網頁公布：http://www.mam.gov.mo/c/index。

評審定於2022年9月25日進行。初評（9月25日上午）、總評（9月25日下午）。初評評選出不多於七個展覽方案進入總評階段。文化局將於9月25日中午時段透過短訊及電話通知進入總評階段之參展方案提案團隊代表，於當天下午指定時間親臨澳門藝術博物館闡釋其方案。請參展方案提案團隊於2022年9月25日中午時段留意接收電話和短訊（提案人的聯絡電話號碼）。缺席總評階段之團隊將視作棄權。如因配合防疫工作或其他特殊原因而無法到現場者，可以視像會議進行方案闡釋，以上兩種方式均無法配合之團隊將視作棄權。文化局保留對“其他特殊原因”的最終決定。

第18屆威尼斯國際建築雙年展，將於2023年5月20日舉行，威尼斯雙年展主席 Roberto Cicutto 和展覽總策展人 Lesley Lokko 於本年5月31日宣布，本屆雙年展的主題為“未來的實驗室（ THE LABORATORY OF THE FUTURE）”*。

– Evento Colateral de Macau, China: Concurso de Propostas de Exposição

Em 2023, o Museu de Arte de Macau, sob os auspícios do Instituto Cultural do Governo da Região Administrativa Especial de Macau, organizará mais uma vez uma equipa para participar na 18.ª Exposição Internacional de Arquitectura La Biennale di Venezia, a fim de permitir que os arquitectos de Macau exibam no palco internacional, oferecendo-lhes mais oportunidades de intercâmbio com os seus homólogos internacionais.

O Museu de Arte de Macau está a realizar o Concurso de Propostas de Exposição, sendo os interessados convidados a apresentar as suas propostas.

O Júri de Selecção de Propostas do Concurso de Propostas de Exposição para a 18.ª Exposição Internacional de Arquitectura La Biennale di Venezia – Evento Colateral de Macau, China é responsável pela análise de Propostas de Exposição e pela selecção duma equipa vencedora para representar a RAEM na 18.ª Exposição Internacional de Arquitectura La Biennale di Venezia – Evento Colateral de Macau, China. O Júri é composto por vários especialistas locais e estrangeiros e representantes do Instituto Cultural do Governo da RAEM. A lista dos membros do Júri de Selecção será oportunamente anunciada na página do MAM: http://www.mam.gov.mo/p/index.

A Selecção será realizada no dia 25 de Setembro de 2022. Na Primeira Etapa (de manhã de 25 Setembro), um máximo de sete Propostas de Exposição poderão ser seleccionadas como Finalistas. Na Etapa Final (à tarde de 25 de Setembro), os representantes das Equipas Candidatas que se qualificarem para a Etapa Final serão convidados, através de SMS e da chamada telefónica do Museu de Arte de Macau ao meio-dia do dia 25 de Setembro, a deslocar-se ao MAM à hora designada da tarde do mesmo dia para apresentarem as suas propostas. Por favor, preste atenção à recepção de SMS e da chamada telefónica (em especial o número de telefone do(a) Proponente) ao meio-dia do dia 25 de Setembro de 2022. A não comparência da Equipa na Etapa Final da Selecção, será considerada como desistência. Caso as Equipas se vejam impedidas de apresentar a sua Proposta de Exposição no local, devido a medidas de prevenção epidémica ou outras situações especiais, poderão realizar a apresentação por meio de videoconferência. A não comparência para apresentação da Proposta de Exposição, através de ambos os meios, será considerada como desistência. O Instituto Cultural reserva-se a decisão final por “outras situações especiais”.

A 18.ª Exposição Internacional de Arquitectura La Biennale di Venezia terá lugar no dia 20 de Maio de 2023. O Presidente de La Biennale di Venezia, Roberto Cicutto, e a Curadora da Exposição, Lesley Lokko, anunciaram em 31 de Maio de 2022 que o tema para esta edição seria “O Laboratório do Futuro” (em inglês, The Laboratory of the Future)*.
