“New infrastructure” refers to the construction of new infrastructure. From the perspective of smart city or future city planning and construction, new infrastructure has come into being and will change the content and methods of urban planning and construction. AAM invited Prof. Wang Peng, professor-level senior urban planner, Director of the Smart City Laboratory of Beijing Big Data Research Institute, to conduct a Webinar: “New Infrastructure and Smart City”, that would analyze the essence of smart cities and the connotation of new infrastructure, and help designers better understand the integration point of ICT technology and urban development.
AAM invited Urbanist/ Architect Jason Hilgefort, who got the master degree of architecture at the University of British Columbia, to give Webinar 4 - From Formal Urbanism to Informed Spatial Practice. Hilgefort used his projects in the Greater Bay Area to share the way his practice Land+Civilization Compositions continues to leverage design thinking within standard notions of development and seek to generate new potentials for spatial practice.
