The Architects Association of Macau invited again Professor Stephen Siu Yu Lau, joined with Professor Zhenjiang Shen, the director of the Department of Environmental Planning, School of Environmental Science, Graduate School of Kanazawa University, Japan, and doctoral supervisor, to conduct a workshop seminar with the theme “Low Carbon Design + Urban Renewal Case Studies”. Two speakers shared international, Japan, China, Hong Kong and other regional cases, explored low-carbon planning concepts, methods and technologies suitable for local development, and proposed low-carbon planning strategies and design solutions suitable for urban renewal in China, in order to realize urban regeneration and sustainable development.

The Architects Association of Macau invited Mr. Wayne, Chong Wai Iu, Design Engineer at Hilti (HK) Limited, to conduct the seminar “Passive Firestop System”. Through the discussion on fire cases and their factors, the presenter introduced relevant design for new Macau fire codes and standards, firestop systems for various applications, the test standard and the acceptance criteria for fire blockage system.
