CPD Seminar 2024

4th May & 31st August, 2024

Adhering to our mission, the Architects Association of Macao has been committed to promoting the overall professional service level of the Macao construction industry by providing rich and diverse learning opportunities for continual professional development courses to members and the industry. In response to the additions and changes made to relevant construction regulations in Macao in recent years, such as the newly formulation of the “Legal regime for urban construction” and “Technical Regulation on Fire Safety of Buildings and Sites “, etc., AAM has organized a CPD titled “Architecture Continual Professional Development Course - Architectural Design and Regulations” for the first time in 2024.

The course is jointly compiled and taught by Ar. Manuel LAI, AAM BD Vice-President; and Ar. Mimi CHEUNG, AAM Board Member. Both of them have been engaged in architectural design work for many years, are familiar with Macao laws, and have extensive experience in preparing projects of architecture in Macao. The course content deepens students’ understanding and application ability of building regulations through multiple case studies, practical examples and interactive discussions. During the design process, relevant regulations and laws are followed to ensure compliance of the building design, facilitating smooth approval of projects.

At the opening ceremony on May 4, AAM GA President Ar. Ben LEONG and BD President Ar. Christine CHOI respectively delivered welcome speeches, and Ar. Ben LEONG presented certificates of thanks to the two speakers and the supporting organization, Macao University of Science and Technology (represented by Associate Professor ZHENG Jian Yi of the Faculty of Humanities and Arts).

This is a series of courses, consisting of three parts totaling approximately 24 hours. The Part I has been conducted in May and June, the Part II starts on August 31, and the Part III is planned to be launched in October 2024. The first two parts of the course have attracted more than 40 participants to enroll. Depending on the effectiveness and response of this course, AAM will offer relevant courses again at an appropriate time in the future.
